The next FIFA World Cup™ returns to its
traditional season of between June and July. The spectacle kicks off with its opening
match on Thursday 11 June, with the World Cup final taking place on Sunday 19 July. You

FIFA World Cup 2026™ will have a new format,
featuring 48 teams (16 more than Qatar 2022™) and 104 matches (40 more than the last
edition). The number of groups has been increased from eight to twelve, with an
additional round of 32 knockout stage added to incorporate the expanded number of

The tournament will be spread across 16 host
cities, with 11 in the USA, three in Mexico and two in Canada. For information about

Host nations Canada, Mexico and the USA have
qualified for FIFA World Cup 26™ automatically. The other 45 places will be determined
